  "It's a conscience matter"

  just had dinner with my wife and a couple of her friends.. one of them was telling me about her sister-in-law, a very nice, kind person who i've met on several occasions.

  it seems this sister got a job in an office as a receptionist/secretary.

  last christmas (1999) her employer asked her to sign christmas cards for all the clients.

  How terribly sad. What puzzles me is the fact that so many stay in the org. after being mistreated so often. My parents have been very badly treated for many years in more than one cong. yet they stick with it. How many times do you have to be kicked while you are down before you realize that this org. is not acting as they preach. John 13:35

  I Think That I Chose My Parents.

  do you believe in reincarnation?.

  i dont think i believe in it in the same way that most believers do, which is that we keep coming back in different fleshly bodies until we have achieved perfection.. i do, however, strongly suspect that we may well be spirit creatures who find it necessary to inhabit a fleshly body from time to time, and that this entails us having to leave behind most of our past memories.. i say most memories, because many people seem to have some vestigal recollections that don`t seem to fit in with earthly experiences.. i`m pretty sure that i chose my parents!

  i have a recollection of being shown a young and kind couple through some form of astral telescope and choosing to become their son.

  Isn't the tie a phallic symbol

  i seem to remember reading somewhere that the tie is a phallic symbol.

  can anybody shed any light on that.

  if this is so it should go the way of beards, birthdays, the cross, rock music, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.

  I have a friend who can do the hands thing with pain. She put her hands on my back one day and the pain was gone for awhile.
  Interestingly enough, her hands were flaming red and very hot to the touch after she did it.

  risking the flames of the ignorant, let me suggest some reading for all you awakening humans who i have come to love:.

  do a search on john edward, he has a site but i am not sure if it is johnedward.com or .org, and he is also on the sci-fi channel(cable tv in usa) and has a site on their page too.

  i recommend getting one of his books and watching his show.

  Thank you for your great post Ravyn. I have watched John Edwards and enjoyed it very much.
  I also watched a show on the history channel where a woman had a disturbing memory of a past which included a whole other family. Through much effort she was able to find the family, and she was indeed their mother. She had so many very distinct memories and landmarks and once she found the remainder of the eight children, they were able to fill in the confusing spots for her. She was probably in her forties at the time of the taping of the show. The children were in their seventies or eighies. She knew names, places, even right down to the placement of the pictures on the walls and what they were of in their home. It was fascinating.
  I am of the mind, that if someone has never experienced it, they have a tendency to reject it.
  On a side note. It is very interesting to have discussions with others and not all agreeing. But, there is a polite way to disagree without agreeing.

  i remember at a book study the conductor saying something about ho simple everything was and that anyone of us could easily talk for a minute about our beliefs.. everybody froze of course and was hoping he wouldn't pick them.. no one could or wanted to do it even amongst each other !.

  it's a sad indictment of the 'faith' isn't it.

  i have a theory that 90% of jw's could not tell you what the current beliefs were.

  I am stunned about Wayans being a witness. Never heard that before.
  As for stating beliefs. I never had a problem with that when I was a witness.
  But now it is very hard for me to believe that I fell for it for so long.
